Plan bookings and availability in one system
We built Calendrcar’s car-rental platform on Odoo without a legacy system to replace. Operating in Switzerland and France, it combines accounting, sales, CRM, rental availability, rate models and subscriptions. An IoT integration supplies vehicle data. Hospitality and coworking projects provide further examples of our rental work.
Five questions we ask before every rental project
The answers establish which requirements Odoo already meets and where configuration or development is needed.
Where are bookings made today? Odoo checks availability on the rental order. To include every reservation, bookings from the website or other calendars must also reach Odoo.
How do you bill? Rental prices per hour, day, week or month are standard. Running contracts with a monthly invoice go through the Subscriptions app. Pricing by operating hours, deposits and damage billing need configuration or development.
Do bookings come from the website? At Villa Maroc and Noqtaspace, Odoo takes over website bookings automatically. Odoo's web shop and customer portal are standard. Connecting a third-party booking portal is an interface.
Do you need the item’s location and status? Importing vehicle data is not a standard function. For Calendrcar, we connected the vehicles’ sensors through IoT.
Do you rent in more than one country? Calendrcar works in Switzerland and France, with two languages and different legal requirements. Several companies, currencies and languages in one database are Odoo standard. We set up the accounting for both countries.
How a rental order runs in standard Odoo
The quote contains the rental item, period and price. Confirmation creates the rental order and reserves the item. Odoo records pickup and return, including serial numbers where needed. Your team checks the condition on return and books the item back in. Configured fee rules apply to late returns, and the invoice comes from the rental order. A planning calendar shows bookings for each item. This workflow is included as standard.
Vehicles on subscription: what Calendrcar does in Odoo
Calendrcar started without an existing system. We set up customers, quotes and contracts in Sales and CRM, availability and rates in Rental, and recurring invoices in Subscriptions. The IoT integration reports vehicle location and status. Multiple rental companies can use the platform.
Rooms, desks and spaces: the projects in Essaouira
Villa Maroc is a riad hotel in Essaouira, Morocco. Bookings came in by email and phone, and the website was separate from the booking system. Today Odoo takes over bookings from the website. Rooms, prices and availability live in Odoo, from enquiry to invoice.
Noqtaspace offers coliving and coworking in Essaouira. Odoo manages rooms, desks and booking periods, with guests in the CRM. Noqtaspace also plans meals and events in Odoo.
Both projects connect bookings, guest records and invoicing.
What this page does not promise
Construction machinery, access platforms, event equipment and medical devices require attention to inspections, handovers, transport and replacement units. Odoo provides maintenance plans, serial numbers and signed delivery records. The preliminary assessment establishes whether these functions are sufficient for your fleet.
Calendrcar and the two projects in Essaouira are outside Germany. Published references from rental in Germany, for example construction equipment, tool hire or event technology, are not available at present; we arrange reference calls on request. For German tax and accounting rules we show you our projects with a DATEV export instead, such as Rauschenberger.
Your first step: the busiest week of last year
Send the bookings from a busy week and your current pricelist through the contact form. We use them in an Odoo test database to review availability conflicts and how your prices can be represented. We reply within one business day.
